It’s the beginning of October, which means we’re embarking on “events high season” in Fountain Hills.  We’ve made a short list of 10 can’t miss fall events in Fountain Hills that are fun for the whole family.  Please check our Events Calendar for the most current information on upcoming Fountain Hills events.


Disney’s Aladdin Jr. at Fountain Hills Youth Theater

Welcome to Agrabah, City of Enchantment and the fantastic tale of the street rat who became a prince! All of your favorite characters from the hit Disney film – Aladdin, Jasmine, Iago, Jafar, the Genie, and more – are here in a musical adventure filled with magic, mayhem, and flying carpet rides. With a tuneful Academy award-winning score, with songs by Alan Menken, Howard Ashman, and Tim Rice, including “A Whole New World” and “Friend Like Me,” will send audiences soaring.

Performances are held Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:00 pm and Sunday afternoons at 2:00 pm from September 25 – October 11, 2015.  For tickets call the Box Office at 480-837-9661 x3.  Regular ticket prices are $15 for youth 17 and under and $18 for adults.  For more details, click here.


Ballet-Under-the-StarsBallet Under The Stars

Free and open to the public, “Ballet Under the Stars” allows Arizona communities to enjoy dance in a unique outdoor setting complete with a stage, lighting, costumes and beautiful Arizona weather. Bring a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy a varied program, ranging from classical to contemporary. You won’t want to miss this perfect show for the entire family – it is a great way to introduce ballet to your children for the first time. What an amazing event! We are really looking forward to this again. It is very kid friendly, in fact there were lots of little girls wearing tutus and dancing up front last year. Joining the national Make a Difference Day, the Town of Fountain Hills  sponsors community-wide service projects that are intended to touch the lives of those in need in our town.  The Fountain Hills Make a Difference Day 2015 is intended to bring the community together to work on a variety of selected projects at residents homes in addition to public parks. Some of the projects may include painting, landscaping, trash removal, building a wheel chair ramp, replacing or fixing items such as gates, gutters, and construction debris, planting flowers, and others.

It’s time for ghosts and ghouls to gather in Fountain Hills for a night of treats without the tricks! The Town of Fountain Hills invites you to come celebrate Halloween in the Hills.  This Halloween, bring the entire family to enjoy trick-or-treating, games, rides, food, and fun! Over 40 local businesses participate to help make this THE BEST HALLOWEEN EVENT IN ARIZONA!

Your kids will enjoy free carnival games, trick-or-treating, bounce houses, a costume contest and more! Your four-legged “kids” are also welcome to attend!  Pets and their people will be parading down the Avenue, competing for top honors in their own k-9 costume contest. Come hungry…the Fountain Hills Noon Kiwanis will be offering for sale hamburgers, hot dogs, drinks, and other refreshments. Can you think of anything better than a movie in the park?  The movie is shown around the amphitheater at Fountain Park, so be sure to show up early to grab a good spot. Enjoy food, entertainment and conversation.  Bring pillows and blankets to get comfy at showtime.  Glow in the dark sticks work wonders for antsy little ones.  In case of mosquitoes, be sure to bring some DIY mosquito repellent.   This event is so much fun for the kids, we highly recommend it.

Turkey Trot 5K and Fitness Run

Join Fountain Hills Community Services for the 25th annual Turkey Trot 5k Run and Fitness Walk on Thanksgiving morning.  Almost 1,700 people participate in this holiday tradition each year.  There will be an early packet pick up which will include t-shirt, and racing bib for only pre-registered participants on Tuesday, November 25th from 4-7 p.m. at the Community Center.  Important: No Bib-No Time. Participants must remember to bring their bib or they will not be timed on race day.  Awards will be given tot he top two finishers in various age divisions.

The ONLY Thanksgiving Day Parade in Arizona, featuring floats, horses, marching bands and a Grand Marshall. The parade starts at 9am and last approximately 2 hours. A lot of the local businesses participate as well as VFW, classic cars clubs, Girl Scout troops, school groups and many others. Fountain Hills kicks off the holiday season with its annual Stroll in the Glow on the Avenue of the Fountains. Fountain Hills Merchants keep their doors open late and offer beverages and treats to show their holiday spirit.   Santa arrives on a fire truck for kids. Over 60,000 twinkling lights and ornaments adorn the trees and median of the newly remodeled Avenue of the Fountains.

On the first Saturday of December a town treasured event comes to life, called “Stroll in the Glow.”  After dark, a brief ceremony ends with the master switch being thrown, bathing the Avenue in a multicolored glow of holiday cheer!  The Avenue of the Fountains is closed and shops stay open late and serve holiday treats and beverages, musicians play holiday music on the sidewalks and Santa arrives by fire truck to take requests from hopeful children.  For more information please call the Chamber of Commerce at (480) 837-1654 or visit their website.
